Economist | | Unit | Planning and Development Division | | Location | Haifa | | Job Description | • Planning, review, analysis, suggesting alternatives for company activity, and development of tools that aid decision making for supervisors and the company's various units • Performance of economic reviews and evaluations • Optimization of transport systems, through use of economic models • Performance of analyses and evaluations of company investment plans • Location of future focuses of risk for company activity within the industry and outside it, in order to enable a fitting response at an appropriate time • Analysis and review of the activities of the company units, in light of changes in sources of profit and cost focuses • Providing economic advice to the regional shipping units (representative of the unit within the division) and headquarter units • Mid-range and long-range planning of alternatives for deployment and activities of the company units • Development of computerized applications for analysis and decision-making for the Planning and Development Division, and for additional bodies within the company. Analysis of global market trends, both in general and specifically in the transport industry, and development of forecasting techniques for influencing these trends in company activity • Presentation of the above projects to company management and other parties, according to management requirements • Maintaining working relationships within the company, with all company units, including subsidiary companies, and with company representatives abroad, as well as other parties according to the requirements of the work. • Performance by company management of reviews/studies that are required from time to time

Assistant to the Marine Operations Manager | | Unit | Global Services | | Location | Haifa | | Job Description | • Continuous tracking of ships' movement in line with sailing schedules, and coordination of corrections in the sailing schedule according to the orders of the Marine Operations Manager • Confirmation of existence of ship’s registry in the company sailing schedule, and confirmation of compatibility of ship's activities with aforementioned registry. Acting in accordance with the company’s computerized sailing schedule management and updating protocol • Initiation of operational cost-cutting by means of a mechanism for monitoring operational costs and expenses, including the issuing of cost reports • Tracking and analysis of ships' performance at sea and in ports (fuel consumption, speed, cargo loading planning, performance of port activities, etc.) • Tracking and analysis of performance versus leasing contracts • Tracking damage by port workers to ships and cargo • Development of efficiency systems for management of fueling, performance tracking, etc. • Tracking of partner ships' performance • Providing information to managers, including the building of a reciprocal reporting and updating system • Use of, and assisting development of computerized applications for analysis and decision-making on the basis of economic models
| | Job Requirements | • BA in economics/industry and management • Very high level of English • Experience in delivering presentations and in presentation of operational recommendations • Experience in shipping – advantage • Familiarity with relevant computer programs and applications • Excellent interpersonal communication
